Festival of the Mind sees the brightest minds from the University of Sheffield collaborate with the city’s cultural and creative industries, to help bring their research to life in exciting, entertaining and innovative ways, through a programme of free exhibitions, films, performances, workshops and talks which are open to everyone.

Michael will be giving an illustrated talk looking at the work of this remarkable campaigning couple. They created and shaped institutions – the Fabian Society, the London School of Economics and the New Statesman – which flourish to this day and were instrumental in far reaching reforms including the establishment of the NHS.
