Michael worked in voluntary organisations and local government, specialising in local economic development and regeneration.

Michael and his wife Hilary live in Arundel; they have two grown up children. Michael is a trustee of Arundel’s Victoria Institute, and chairs the Arundel and South Downs Constituency Labour Party.

Most days he walks in the countryside around Arundel, and posts photographs on social media. He is a committed opponent of proposals to build a new highway, bypassing Arundel, but destroying areas of great natural beauty, and carving through ancient villages.
